August is about systems. I work using methods and theories that connect you, your internal and external worlds and your organisation and its internal and external worlds.

August is about leadership

August provides specialist support to leaders, practitioners and teams wanting to learn, improve, develop or just be more aware of their own culture. I  offer creative, therapeutic working models that help people see and think more clearly.

August is for CEOs, senior leaders, artists, practitioners, freelancers and academics, civil servants, politicians and entrepreneurs. Having someone skilled and experienced to think and work through complexity with can be a relief and a creative outlet to support clarity, decision and resolution.

I have designed and delivered programmes for individual, team and institutional change in a range of contexts.

For 12 years I was the CEO of a national organisation designing and delivering therapeutic group work in prison and community settings. Here's my CV if you want to know more.

Charlie Weinberg

I am always happy to have a conversation to think through what you want, whether or not August can provide it; and if so, how we would work together.

I use therapeutic approaches; reflection and psychodynamic appreciation. I use your contributions creatively and think about how what you say and don't say (the unconscious is included) might be helpful to you and others.

You will want to know what I can do, what difference it will make and how much it will cost (not necessarily in that order). I offer a range of packages and pricing solutions (go to that section).

I have significant experience of designing, delivering and reviewing reflective practice, social action and therapeutic group work with and for many organisations including Leicestershire Constabulary, Revolving Doors Agency, Prisoners Education Trust, Catalyst Housing, Novus Cambria, Novus, West Midlands Police, Sandwell Children’s Trust, HMPPS, WALK Ministries, Switchboard Brighton, The Institute of Group Analysis and London Healthy Living Partnership.

Whole organisation support: seeing the BIGGER picture, thinking through the gaps

I am trained in a variety of psychodynamic and psychotherapeutic practices: Organisational and systems leadership at the Tavistock and Portman Clinic; Group Analysis at the Institute of Group Analysis; Social Therapy at the EastSide Institute; Counselling and Creative Writing at Birkbeck; and Group Facilitation and Conflict Resolution with the NAOS institute.

I held the post of Executive Director of Safe Ground for 12 years, responsible for the growth, impact and relationships of a national organisation designing therapeutic group work in prisons.
I have been the Chair of The Centre for Crime and Justice Studies since 2017, having joined the Board in 2015.

A sample of my published articles, chapters and blogs can be found on my CV.

I'm on LinkedIn if you're interested in thinking a
bout charities, leadership, thinking or groups.

"As a new Chief Executive I was looking for someone to think through some of the challenges and opportunities ahead. Charlie understands and embraces the complexity that comes with the role of a CE of a voluntary led organisation, but working with her brings out the optimism and belief in myself to tackle in a way suited to who I am."
